Event: Hidden Valley Trails and more

Starting Location: Hidden Valley Trails TH. Directions: From east McCarran Blvd or Veterans Parkway, turn east on Pembroke Drive, up the hill to Parkway Dr. Turn right (south) on Parkway Dr. and follow it into the Hidden Valley Regional Park.

Description: This hike will be on multi surfaces. We will start by walking from the park into the neighborhood. We will then travel on a flat surface along the Steamboat Ditch. Travel will become more difficult as we increase elevation on a rocky dirt road. From the road we will branch off across a hill until we reach the Hidden Valley Highland trail. This trail is a narrow single tract. On the trail we will have beautiful views of Reno/Sparks and Mt. Rose. However, be cautious as you admire the views as there are many obstacles, on the trail, as well as cross slopes that may affect your footing. This trail will meet up with the lower perimeter trail where we will head back to our cars.

Event Specific Information: Important to have good tread on your hiking shoes. Hiking poles are strongly encouraged. as always, be prepared for weather changes.
There is a restroom by the parking lot.

What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
