Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 09:15 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Spooner Lake State Park Parking. Directions: Take I-580 South to US-50 West (in Carson City). In about 9.7 miles, veer right onto NV-28. In about a mile, turn right into Spooner Lake State Park and go to the Parking Lot.

Description: Join us for a picturesque snowshoe through the woods along North Canyon Road. We’ll start at the parking lot (turn left as you enter the park) and then follow the trail along North Canyon Road experiencing a modest elevation gain in the direction of Marlette Lake. We’ll snowshoe for about 2.5 miles before stopping and heading back. The woods are snow covered and beautiful.

Distance(s): 5.0     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Elevation Gain: 610 (ft)     Difficulty: 5 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: There is a $10 fee to enter the park ($15 for non-Nevada vehicles). Special note on the ride share location: there is a fair amount of construction going so you may need to park in an adjacent lot within the shopping plaza.

Be sure to check the website before leaving for the event to determine if weather/road conditions have forced a cancellation.

What to Bring: Snowshoes, Poles (with the larger baskets), Water, Snacks/lunch, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Dress in layers. Winning attitude.
