Starting Location: Galena Creek Visitor Center TH. Directions: Heading up the Mt. Rose Highway, Galena Creek is about 7 miles above the junction with I580. Take the right turn off the highway at the Galena Creek Recreation Area, and then take the right turn into the Galena Creek Visitor Center parking lot.
Description: From the Galena Creek Trailhead we will snowshoe with only slight elevation gain. This is an out and back trail.
Distance(s): 3.0 Route Type: Out-and-Back Elevation Gain: 10 (ft) Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)
Event Specific Information: Be sure you are familiar with your equipment. It should be a beautiful day!
There are restrooms at the visitors center, but they may be closed for winter.
What to Bring: Snowshoes, Poles, Water, Snacks, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Dress in layers.
