Starting Location: Lake Tahoe Cave Rock Boat Launch. Directions: From the intersection of 80 and I580(395) go South on I580. When you get to Carson City take Highway 50 West towards Lake Tahoe. Follow Highway 50 around the lake towards South Lake Tahoe. As soon as you go thru Cave Rock Tunnel you will make a right into the boat launch area. There are very few car parking spots so arrive early. We will meet at the beach end of the parking lot. There is a roundabout there to unload your kayak and then go park. There is a $15 fee to launch but if you have a NV State Park pass it is free.

Description: We will launch from Cave Rock and paddle down to Glenbrook. In Glenbrook, you will see the remnants of old piers that you can paddle thru. On the way back we will stop at Logan Shoals for a beach lunch at my friend’s beach. We will then paddle on back to Cave Rock. The paddle to Glenbrook is about 3 miles each way (6 miles round trip). It should take us about an hour and a half each way.

What to Bring: Purchase the required AIS decal from the Department of Wildlife (NDOW.ORG) located at 1100 Valley Rd; Reno, NV. Check the website or call 775-688-1500. Dress for the weather. Have your life vest (PFD), hat, sunscreen, drinking water, bug spray and snacks.
