Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 08:30 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Mount Rose Ski Parking (Atoma Rd) TH. Directions: Take I-580 South to NV-431 West, Mount Rose Hwy. In about 13 miles, at the Mt Rose Ski Parking entrance, turn right onto Atoma Rd. The trailhead is in the middle of the parking area (on the left), before the building.

Description: Meet at Wedge Parkway Starbucks at 8:30 AM, or the dirt parking area across from the Mt Rose Ski Area parking at 9 AM. 4.5 miles round trip on a easy/ moderate bike path to Tamarack Lake and return. Optional short distance to the upper area of Sky Tavern Ski Area.

Distance(s): 4.5 or 4.0     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Difficulty: 4 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: From the ski area parking area, we will hike to Tamarack Lake, take a 10-minute rest and photo op. Returning to the parking area. The optional 0.5 trail goes to the Sky Tavern Ski area.

Be aware of a deep ditch in the parking area just before the building. Take it slowly.

What to Bring: Drinking water and snacks. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles may be useful.
