Starting Location: Lower Galena Creek TH. Directions: Take U.S. 395 to SR 431 (Mt. Rose Hwy); head west. Travel 3 miles to Callahan Rd; turn left or south. Follow for 1.5 miles; parking and trailhead on your right.

Description: This trail is a pleasant mild to moderate walk with an out-and-back distance of about 3 miles. Elevation gain out is evenly distributed… less than 1,000 ft. Our route mostly follows Galena Creek with several bridge crossings back and forth over the water. We will see Jeffery Pine and Aspen. On the creek side there are willows, alders, and wild roses. We will also pass by several Montreux homes.

Route Type: Out-and-Back     Elevation Gain: 500 (ft)     Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: This is a woodsy walk on natural paths. We are starting early in an attempt to beat the forecasted heat. You may want to double up on your usual water!

What to Bring: Might want to consider bringing drinking water and using sunscreen.
