Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 08:00 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Kahle Park. Directions: From I580/I80 intersection in Reno, drive south on I580 for 37 miles to US Hwy 50 West. Take Hwy 50 West for 21 miles, turn left at the stoplight at Kahle Drive, stay to the left and drive up the hill a short distance (.2 mile) to the parking lot at Kahle Park. Park along the north end of the lot.

Description: Meet in the covered gazebo in the northwest part of Kahle Park. Public restrooms are nearby. We will start off on the Round Hill Pines bike parth along Burke Creek, then venture out to dirt trails above Kingsbury Middle School. Somewhat hilly but fairly gentle terrain with lots of pine trees, some wildflowers, and Tahoe granite. We will then cross Hwy 50 at Elks Point Road, and hike on the bike path out to Round Hill Pines Beach Resort. Next we will walk to Nevada Beach for lunch and time for wading or swimming in Lake Tahoe. Bring your swimsuit and towel. Restrooms are available for changing. After lunch, we will head back to Kahle Park via the Lam Watah nature trail above Nevada Beach. About a quarter of the distance will be on paved trails.

Event Specific Information: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt and paved paths, sun protection, plenty of water, snack/lunch. Bathing suit and towel if you want to swim.

What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
