Starting Location: Rosewood Nature Study Area TH. Directions: Take I-80 East to Exit 20 (Sparks Blvd) and make a right. Stay on Sparks Blvd and it turns into Veterans Pkwy. Turn right onto Pembroke Dr and the Study Area is immediately on your left.
Description: We will start our hike at the Rosewood Lakes Nature Study parking lot. On this hike we will travel on Veterans Parkway, thru neighborhoods, and a portion of Hidden Valley Park. When we complete this loop we will continue our hike along the trail at the Rosewood Lakes Nature Study area.
Distance(s): 8.5 or 6.5 Route Type: Loop Elevation Gain: 450 (ft) Difficulty: 2 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)
Event Specific Information: Hikers that only want to go 6.5 miles will skip the nature study area portion of the hike.
What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
