Description: We will be hiking the Historical Incline Flume Trail going over streams, bridges, in mostly shaded areas with great views of Lake Tahoe. We will cross 6 creeks, all have been worked on and easy to cross! The wild flowers are beautiful!! There will be a very short uphill climb to the Bull Wheel which was used between 1880 until 1894 to build Virginia City and the mines. Then, it will be all down hill with some sun on the tunnel creek road for 2 miles.

Distance(s): 10.5     Route Type: Loop     Elevation Gain: 400 (ft)     Difficulty: 6 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: We will be carpooling and have to shuttle cars to complete this hike. Meeting at Starbucks would help us with figuring out the shuttle/carpooling. If you can’t, please be at the trailhead at 7:00 am! If you choose to meet at the trailhead take State Route 431 aka Mt Rose Highway. About 4 miles past the Mt Rose Trailhead Parking Lot going through Tahoe Meadows. As you go down the hill past Tahoe Meadows on the right-side of the highway, you will see a road construction sign. Just before that sign is a large area to park at, this is where we will begin the hike/shuttle!

What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
