Ride Sharing: North West Kohl’s Parking Lot @ 06:30 AM. Directions: 5150 Mae Anne Ave in Ridgeview Plaza
Starting Location: PCT (Donner Pass Rd) TH. Directions: Take I-80 West to Exit 174 (Soda Springs). Turn left onto Donner Pass Rd. In about 4 miles, the Trailhead is on the left; parking on the right.
Description: Our hike will begin at the Pacific Crest Trail north. The names of the Alpine Lakes that we will be going to are, Angela, Flora and Azalea. Last, we will see the Trails West Emigrant marker. This is where the Stephens Party in 1844 disassembled the wagons to get over Donner Pass.
Distance(s): 8.0 Route Type: Loop
Event Specific Information: Possible road construction delays! Always check with the Caltrans site for updates. I will try and update this posting if current road conditions change.
What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
