Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 09:30 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Mount Rose (Summit) TH. Directions: I-580 South to NV-431 exit; past Mt Rose Ski Tahoe. At the summit, you will come to a parking lot on your right. Trailhead starts behind restrooms.
Elevation: 8911

Description: Join us for the first snowshoe of the season. From the Mt Rose Summit Trailhead, we’ll start out on the TRT and then veer off and head toward Tamarack Peak. The hike is listed at 1,235 feet of gain. With luck we’ll see some back country skiers and snowboarders heading down the bowl on the backside of the Peak.

Distance(s): 4.5     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Elevation Gain: 1,235 (ft)     Difficulty: 6 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: This is not a particularly challenging snowshoe but there is elevation gain on the out-bound leg.

At the time of posting the weather forecast suggests good road conditions but be sure to check the website Monday morning for any status changes.

What to bring: Snowshoes, Poles, Water, Snacks/lunch, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Dress in layers.
