Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 07:15 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Rubicon Trailhead South. Directions: From I-80 and I-580/US-395 in Reno, take I-580 South through Carson City. I-580 ends at US-395 (about 36 miles); continue straight onto US-50, through Stateline, NV into California (about 27 miles). Turn right onto CA-89 N (Emerald Bay Rd). In about 6.8 miles, turn right into the Upper Eagle Point Campground. Pay a Day Use fee at the Entrance Station. Drive through the campground to the Extra Vehicle Parking on the left (just past campsite #33). The trailhead is near the Campfire Center just below the parking lot.

Description: Starting at the Rubicon Trailhead South (in the Upper Eagle Point Campground) we will follow the Rubicon trail for 3 miles then turn around and return. The hike is along the shoreline of Lake Tahoe with magnificent views.

Distance(s): 6.0     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Elevation Gain: 500 (ft)     Difficulty: 5 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: Perhaps bring a change of shoes to keep your feet happy.

Hike starts at 9:00AM, ending 11:30AM however returning to Starbucks about 1-1:30PM.

What to Bring: Drinking water and light snacks. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles and bug spray may be useful.
