Starting Location: Whites Creek Dry Pond TH (NF-047). Directions: Take I-580 South to Exit 24 (NV-431 West). In about 4.5 miles, turn right onto N. Timberline Dr. In about 0.5 miles, turn left onto NF-047. The road starts out paved but turns to rough dirt at the trailhead gate. Proceed about 0.8 mile to the trailhead parking area.

Description: We will hike to Dry Pond from the White’s Creek trailhead about one west of Timberland Rd and return. The first part of the hike is gradual, but the final mile has a 500 ft gain.

Distance(s): 4.0 or 2.0     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Difficulty: 5 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: Restrooms are available at the trailhead. Dry Pond is not dry this spring. There may be wildflowers in the last mile ascent. Weather will be in the mid 60’s. Note 6/19 is a federal and state holiday.

What to Bring: Drinking water and snacks. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles may be useful.
