Starting Location: Frenchman Campground Boat Ramp BL. Directions: Take US-395 North to Exit 8, CA-70 towards Portola/Quincy. In about 5.7 miles, turn right onto CA-284 North; Frenchman Lake Rd. In about 8.3 miles, turn right (over dam). In about 1 mile, turn left towards Frenchman Campground. Follow the road to the boat ramp. The kayaks may be unloaded at the boat ramp and you may park your vehicles in the parking lot. Note: there is a $10 day use fee at all the parking areas.

Description: Beautiful drive thru the canyon to Frenchman Reservoir.
We will kayak around a portion of Frenchman Reservoir and return to the boat ramp. We occasionally see wildlife along the shore line.

Route Type: Loop     Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: There is a $10 day use parking fee. Winds usually pick up around 12:00.

What to Bring: Purchase the required AIS decal from the Department of Wildlife (NDOW.ORG) located at 1100 Valley Rd; Reno, NV. Check the website or call 775-688-1500. Dress for the weather. Have your life vest (PFD), hat, sunscreen, drinking water, bug spray and snacks.
