Ride Sharing: North West Kohl’s Parking Lot @ 07:00 AM. Directions: 5150 Mae Anne Ave in Ridgeview Plaza

Starting Location: Stampede Dam Rd TH. Directions: From the junction of I-80 and I-580/US-395 in Reno, take I-80 west for approximately 26 miles and exit 194, Hirschdale Rd exit. At the stop sign turn left onto Stampede Meadows Rd. Travel approximately 10 miles. (Stampede Meadows Rd will change into Stampede Dam Rd.) When you come to a stop sign the pavement ends at the junction of Dog Valley Road/ Henness Pass Road. Make a right turn then an immediate right turn into the dirt parking area.

Description: We will be hiking on OHV roads to the top of Verdi Peak. There is an old lookout tower, we can climb up to, that overlooks our beautiful forest. We will, of course, see lots of beautiful flowers along the route. If the group is energetic, we can add an additional mile and climb to the top of Ladybug Peak. The views are amazing.

Event Specific Information: Caution: If your map program leads you thru Verdi and Dog Valley Rd, DO NOT TAKE IT. You will need a high clearance vehicle. There is no cell service at the starting point so make sure you know where you are going.
If will be hot so make sure you have extra water and electrolytes.

What to Bring: Plenty of water, lunch, snacks. Clothing layers as needed, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, hiking poles.
