Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 08:00 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Mount Rose (Summit) TH. Directions: I-580 South to NV-431 exit; past Mt Rose Ski Tahoe. At the summit, you will come to a parking lot on your right. Trailhead starts behind restrooms.
Elevation: 8911

Description: At 10,785 feet in elevation, Mount Rose is one of the most topographically prominent peaks in the state of Nevada. We start our hike at the Mount Rose Summit trailhead on the Mount Rose highway. There is a moderate climb to Galena Falls, where we will take a short break. From there we climb to the saddle,
where we take our second break. After the saddle, the climb is steep and rocky to the summit. Alltrails has this to say about the hike, “despite having over 2000 feet in elevation gain, the journey to the top is best described as pleasant rather than challenging”.

Event Specific Information: The weather at the top is unpredictable. It will probably not be cold at this time of year. However, it may be windy. An unimpeachable source has reported to me that Mt. Rose is snow free with gorgeous wildflowers.

What to Bring: Plenty of water, lunch, snacks. Clothing layers as needed, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, hiking poles.
