Ride Sharing: North West Kohl’s Parking Lot @ 08:30 AM. Directions: 5150 Mae Anne Ave in Ridgeview Plaza
Starting Location: Donner Summit Canyon TH. Directions: Take I-80 West to Exit 184 (Donner Pass Rd) and turn left. Drive beside Donner Lake past West End Beach. About 1/2 mile past S Shore Dr (turn off for West End Beach) is a turn off. Parking in there. If you get to the Winter Closure Gate, you’ve gone too far.

Description: DONNER CANYON is a 3-mile trek starting at the trailhead on Donner Pass Road, Truckee, on a snow-covered trail, up a slight hill through the forest along a small creek then to a picnic table with views of Donner Lake and surrounding snow covered mountains.
Distance(s): 3.0 Route Type: Out-and-Back Elevation Gain: 350 (ft) Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)
Event Specific Information: We will take a rest at the picnic table, take advantage of the photo ops, a group photo, have a snack then return to our vehicles.
What to Bring: Snowshoes, Poles, Water, Snacks, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Dress in layers.
