DOUBLE DIAMOND WETLANDS, 3-29-18

33 Hikers:   1 did 1 mile, 9 did 4.6, 13 did 5.6, and 10 did 6.6 on a warm spring day with temps near 60.

TRUCKEE RIVER BIKE PATH, ROCK TO IDLEWILD PARK, 3-15-18

28 hikers:  8 did 5 miles, 20 did 9 miles.  (Note:  Photographer Bob did not have his Nikon; photos from older camera that in which the battery died & the rest from my phone which I was hardly able to see the subjects).

NORTHWEST RENO URBAN TRAILS, 3-8-18

34 hikers:  2 did 2 miles, 23 did 5.5 (because of wicked wind) & 9 (stuck it out & ) did 8.3 miles.

DAMONTE RANCH WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, 3-1-18

14 hikes:  8 hiked 4.4 miles, 6 hiked 8 miles.

11 hikers hiked 6.3 miles

14 hikers hiked 14 miles.

In between a pre & post End of the Year gathering at the home of Judi & Floyd Whiting, 39 hikers hiked 5 miles.

Fort Churchill State 2-1-2018

Fort Churchill was built in 1861 to provide protection for early settlers and guard Pony Express mail runs.  Today the ruins are preserved in a state of arrested decay.  Visitors can walk designated trails to study the ruins.

16 Hikers hiked either 4 or 6 miles on the rolling  snowless, grassy hills in Sparks on a windy day with temps in the 30's.

23 Hikers hiked 5.5 miles on a snowless landscape.

BARTLEY RANCH, RIDGEVIEW DR., STEAMBOAT DITCH, and HOLIDAY GATHERING II., 12-21-17

32 hikers hiked  either 3, 5, 6, or 8 miles and partaking in the annual holiday breakfast & luncheon hosted by Diane & Warren Ronsheimer at their Christmas  decorated home.

VIRGINIA FOOTHILLS, TOLL ROAD and HOLIDAY GATHERING I. 12-14-17

41 hikers hiked 6 miles before and after a breakfast & luncheon holiday gathering at the home of Lonnie and Jim "Shamus" Bonar.

HOLE IN THE WALL, 11-30-17

High 20 degree temps went up to high 50's and dirt trail became mud trail.

20 hikers hiked 6.7 miles.

MARLETTE LAKE, 10-26-17

12 hikers hiked 7 miles, and 15 hiked 10.5 miles continuing on to the shores of the Lake with its barren trees (unlike last year when the trees were with bright yellow leaves).

MT. JUDAH, 10-19-17

16 hikers climbed the 6.5 miles to the 8, 243 foot summit of  Mt Judah on a very windy day ( As we approached the  summit, the wind was so strong it nearly blew some of us off the narrow trail & down the edge of the cliff! )

JONES-WHITES CREEK LOOP, 10-12-17

19 hikers hiked 11.5 miles starting in 29 degree temps (which rose slightly throughout the 8 hour hike).  The steep & steady ascent took us to Church's Pond where earlier in the hike, historian Jim Bonar told us the pond is not religious but named after the  man who invented the device to measure snowfall.  The descent from the pond was along and crossed, three times, Whites Creek.  (where 1 hiker fell into the creek).

MT. ROSE, 10-5-17

33 Hikers:  11 hiked 5 miles, & 22 climbed the 10.5 miles to the 10,766' summit of Mt. Rose.

TAHOE RIM TRAIL, SOUTH FROM TAHOE MEADOWS, 9-28-17

28 Hikers:  10 hiked 6 miles while 18 hiked 10.5  on a forested trail  with large rock formations to two points overlooking Washoe Valley and Lake, and Lake Tahoe.

HIGH SIERRA LAKES, 9-14-17

20 hikers, hiked 5.7 miles in The High Sierras passing by alpine lakes including Angela, Flora & Azelea after starting off overlooking Donner Lake with the iconic  "Rainbow Bridge" in the foreground.

SUGAR PINE POINT STATE PARK and HARTIGAN'S CABIN, 8-31-17

34 hikers met at The Hartigan's year round cabin in Tahoma, CA, hiked 5.5 miles and returned to their cabin for our annual pot luck party.  Thank you Frank & Judy.
