UNR/RENO CITY CENTER, 12-22-22

Gary led hikers on a leisurely, fun 6.2 mile "walk"  through the campus of UNR, under the "RENO: BIGGEST LITTLE CITY IN THE WORLD" arch, along the Truckee River, into the old Post Office, and along The Glow District before returning to  Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, our starting point. The walk included goodies:  candy canes from Gary, holiday cookie bars by Ingrid, and brownie  squares by Naomi.  This was one fun holiday hike!

HUNTER CREEK TRAIL, 10-27-22

MT ROSE, 10-20-22

Delia led hikers to the summit of Mt. Rose in 3 hours, 40 minutes, passing the Mt Rose waterfall. 2.5 miles into hike. Unlike September 2020 where we were nearly blown off the slope of the mountain in frigid temperatures, today's hike was  on a sunny  day with cool temps & blue sky.  On top of the  10,766' summit we fanned & blew bubbles into the air against the magnificent backdrop of the glorious Lake Tahoe.  We also celebrated Vicky becoming the 8th OLLI hiker to crack the 2000 mile mark. Gary led us back down in a brisk 2 hours & 55 minutes.  What a great day day before the snow may blanket the summit in 48 hours.
