Ride Sharing: Wedge Pkwy Starbucks Parking Lot @ 08:00 AM. Directions: 18250 Wedge Pkwy in Galena Junction Shopping Center

Starting Location: Prison Hill Recreational Area TH. Directions: Take I-580 South to Carson City. Continue through Carson City and make a right onto Exit 3-Fairview Drive. Drive to the traffic signal and stay in your left lane. Make a left onto Fairview Drive and cross over the overpass. Stay in your left land and drive about a mile to the Flashing Yellow lights stating 15 mph. At the round about make a right onto E 5th street and go to the 1st stop sign. Make a right onto Carson River Rd. As soon as you make this right you will come to a marker to your right stating Prison Hill Recreation Area. Make a right into this parking area.

Description: We will be making a loop in Long Valley on level dirt trails. The hike will begin at the New Prison Hill Recreational Area trail head. We will hike along Prison Hill, the Silver Saddle Ranch, Old Buzzy’s Ranch and the Carson River. This, Valley is very beautiful this time or year!

Distance(s): 6.0     Route Type: Loop     Difficulty: 5 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

What to Bring: Wear shoes suitable for hiking on dirt trails with loose rocks and mud. Layer clothing as appropriate for the weather. Trekking poles for those who use them. Sun protection. Bring plenty of water, snack/lunch.
