Ride Sharing: North West Kohl’s Parking Lot @ 08:30 AM. Directions: 5150 Mae Anne Ave in Ridgeview Plaza

Starting Location: Boreal Ridge Road – South of Freeway. Directions: From Hwy. 80 go West toward Sacramento. About 40 miles, take the Castle Peak/Boreal Ski resort exit (this is just past the rest area). At the stop sign turn left and go under the freeway. At the next stop sign turn left. Drive past the hotel then turn right at the next space into the parking lot. Keep right, past the restrooms and park around the corner.

Description: OLLI members will snowshoe to the PCT/Boreal for a 3 mile trek out and back. Elevation gain is about 250-300 feet, all with undulations (a little up and a little down, then up and down again). Views are magnificent of Castle Peak and surrounding areas. We will turn around at Azalea Lake.

Distance(s): 3.0     Route Type: Out-and-Back     Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: The snow is outstanding.
Park next to the 20+ foot snow berm around the corner from the restrooms.
A California State Park SNO-PARK parking permit is required.
