Starting Location: Bartley Ranch (Schoolhouse Parking Area). Directions: Bartley Ranch Park is located off Lakeside Drive south of McCarran in south Reno. From the McCarran/Lakeside intersection head south on Lakeside about 0.4 mile and turn left (east) on Bartley Ranch Road. Go through the covered bridge and turn right to the old Huffaker schoolhouse parking lot. There are restrooms near the old schoolhouse, in Wheatland Park and in the Bartley Ranch main building.

Description: The first 2 miles will be easy and flat on the east part of the natural surface Ranch Loop Trail, paved Wheatland Park sidewalks and blacktop Bartley Ranch Road.
Hikers wanting 3 miles will walk an additional mile out-and-back over a small hill and on adjacent Anderson Park’s natural surface trail.
An additional mile over Windy Hill will be offered. This is a natural surface trail with about 100 ft of climb in about a quarter mile. The downhill will be on the Flume and Quail Run trails.
There is some shade, but most is exposed.

What to Bring: Drinking water and snacks. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles may be useful.
