Starting Location: Evans Canyon TH. Directions: Just north of the N Virginia St and N McCarran Blvd intersection; the trailhead is in the northwest corner of the Reno Softball Complex parking lot.

Description: Meet at the Evans Creek TH at the Reno ball fields/Basque Monument parking area at the NW corner of N Virginia and N McCarran at 8:45 AM. The hike starts at 9 AM. We will hike up Canyon on the Evans Creek Trail and return down canyon on the Miners trail, about 3 miles round trip. It is early to mid Spring along the trail.

Distance(s): 3.0     Route Type: Loop     Elevation Gain: 300 (feet)     Difficulty: 3 (1=Easy thru 10=Very Difficult)

Event Specific Information: Temps in mid 60’s but breezy. Trail is dry. Two stream crossings, one wide but shallow with stepping stones. The other on a plank. Steepest portion is the 20 step stairs at the turn around point.

What to Bring: Drinking water and snacks. Hat and sunscreen are recommended. Trekking poles may be useful.
